Welcome,
welcome, welcome to Adrianna Lopez, our new Youth Coordinator! | | | It
has been years since we had one person dedicated to walking with our youth in
all of their activities, joys, and sufferings. What a blessing to have Adrianna
with us! We have invited Adrianna to share with us a little about herself and
her dreams for this new ministry... | | It
is with immense excitement that I introduce myself to the community as your new
Youth Minister! As a recent Adams State College English/ Secondary Education graduate,
I am eager to take part in the formation of our youth ministry program. Being
a mother of two young children (5&2), I am impacted with the awareness of
responsibility that all members of our community hold when it comes to constructing
and fueling our young futures. I believe that bringing up children requires guidance,
understanding, and room for both intellectual and spiritual growth. It is our
responsibility as a community, and mine as a youth minister and mother, to assure
that the young individuals in this parish receive everything needed to become
successful individuals, creating a strong, imminently thriving future.

| My
husband, Adam, and I often find ourselves fretting about our community's condition,
and what type of world our children will be faced with. There is no doubt, the
world is constantly evolving and transforming. It is my strongest belief that
if we- a community, a city, a world- do not give attention to the young people
who are in charge of our future, then we truly have no room for complaints and
objections to the situations that our children will be placed in. As your Youth
Minister, I am dedicated to creating, and utilizing safe, constructive programs
that can not only interest our youth, but also connect to young people. The EDGE
and LIFETEEN programs that we are trying to implement are exceptional curriculums
that pull students out of the classroom and into an explorative journey of themselves
and the world around them. My goal is to bring adolescents' interest back into
the parish, and therefore hopefully pulling that interest away from unhealthy
outlets. I was raised as part of the Sacred Heart Parish community, and I fully
intend to give back to this very community all that has been provided for me,
and maybe even more!
